Ghostrider by Lonely Planet: Curated Local Tours
Lonely Planet, one of the largest travel book publishers, wanted to build a digital product that would utilize it’s position as a go-to travel advisor to create and curate “hyper authentic” experiences that could be accessed anywhere and anytime.
HYPER AUTHENTIcity
Lonely Planet had several years worth of collective data and research from their published travel guides. This provided a vast library of different experiences ranging from your typical tourist attractions to localized ones few know about.
SPECIALIZED & LOCAL EXPERIENCES
Lonely Planet’s in-field travel researchers were at the heart of this data collection. Their travel insights provided us with the tools to design a platform that would curate local and niche experiences outside of the normal touristy ones. The term “hyper authenticity” was dubbed as a benchmark for the team to assess which experiences would provide our users with the most immersive and interesting insights for their visit.
IN-APP BOOKING
Ghostrider’s main value proposition was positioned around the exclusive and intimate nature of the tours and scheduling, booking and follow-up were key touch points of that experiences. The guides could set their own time slots as well as setting limitations on group size. Users could then book from the app and are shown similar tours to explore.
GHOSTRIDER DEMAND
A support platform designed for Ghostrider tour guides that helps streamline real-time information and track performance insights. Scheduling, modifying, and approving made simple and intuitive.
